Description:

Progress Rail Services Corporation, a Caterpillar Company and a leading provider of services to the Railroad industry in the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Europe, seeks an experienced Quality Manager for our Rail Welding division based out of Kansas City, MO.

Duties:

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage Quality Systems at multiple sites
  • Develop quality procedures and work instructions
  • Perform internal audits
  • Ensure that quality procedures are being followed at all locations
  • Act as a point of contact internally and externally on Quality issues and best practices
  • Develop relationships with our customers
  • Reduce non conforming cost via pro actively working internally and externally.
  • Supervise Quality of Weld Plants and In-track Welding Trucks 
  • Work with internal sources to establish root cause of problems and implement permanent corrective actions

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5  years working experience in Quality Assurance with strong background in ISO-9001 implementation and maintenance
  • 4 year degree in Quality Assurance or closely related field
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience
  • Ability to work with management and with all operational levels within a manufacturing environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Continuous & Process Improvements. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • ASQ Certifications are a plus
