Job Title: Engineer
Reports to: Principal
Position Summary: Assist the team in execution of projects through engineering tasks/functions. Take initiative to develop technically, learn from designers, drafters, and engineers, and grow to understand a comprehensive view of the firm's unique abilities.
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses:
EIT (preferred, but not required)
LEED Accredited Professional (preferred, but not required)
Supervisory Responsibility, if any: none
Working Conditions:
90% indoors at firm’s facility
10% indoors or outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat is often required. Personal Protective Equipment is provided by firm.
Ability to work outdoors in hot summers and cold winters is required.
Minimal requirements to perform strenuous physical activity in order to navigate construction site.
Special Requirement: Must be able to transport self to and from various construction and work sites.

Duties: |
Essential Functions:
1. Engineering - Perform necessary engineering functions required for the project (field investigation, load calculations, equipment selection, system diagrams, sequence of operation and control diagrams, layouts, and specifications), while coordinating with designers, drafters, and engineers. Review drawings for proper practices, quality, and consistency with office design standards.
2. Construction administration - Under the direction of a Senior Engineer, assist in performing the engineer's obligations and responsibilities during the construction process, including conducting pre-bid and construction meetings, reviewing shop drawings, resolving construction and owner issues, reviewing pay applications and close-out documents, performing progress and punchlist inspections.
3. Communication - Effectively coordinate with internal and external members of the design team, including firm staff, owners, architects, and other consultants.
4. Development - Over time, develop skills and capabilities to grow into the role of Senior Engineer.

1. Involvement in professional organizations on local level
2. Pursue professional engineering licensure

Qualifications: |
Education: BSEE
Experience: 2-5 years in related industry experience preferred
Must be of sound mental and emotional fitness during all working hours
Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week if needed
