About Life Skills:
Life Skills began in 1964 with a handful of parents of children with developmental disabilities who dreamed of an accepting community, greater independence and a bright future for their loved ones. Today, Life Skills is working to realize that dream. Every year, services offered by Life Skills help more than 1,400 adults and teens with developmental disabilities such as autism and Down syndrome find meaningful work and live in a home of their own. Not only are our clients' changed by their experiences, but communities are enriched and the values, beliefs and lives of those they touch are transformed.
As a CLI, you would be responsible for assisting our clients with everyday living so they are able to live in a home of their own. |
Duties: |
A CLI is responsible for:
* Assisting clients with household chores (cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc)
* Administering medication
* Assisting with hygiene and toileting
* Ensuring clients work toward their goals outlined in their PCP (Person-Centered Plan)
* Recording relevant information to communicate doctors orders or log notes for what occured during a shift
* Managing a clients finances |
Qualifications: |
Candidates should have some knowledge of disabilities and support services.
Must be able to problem solve; prioritize and plan in order to meet deadlines; communicate well in writing and speaking; multi-task;
A qualified candidate must have:
* Valid Drivers License
* Valid Car Insurance
* Reliable Vehicle
* Willingness to transport clients in personal vehicle during work hours
* High School Diploma/GED
Preferred qualifications are:
Fairly open availability (especially evening and weekend shifts)
6 months or more experience with individuals with developmental disabilities |
