Description: | Pioneer Services, the Military Banking Division of MidCountry Bank, is looking for an experienced Database Administrator to provide technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of relational database management systems. As a DBA you will provide 24x7 on-call rotation support for all production databases; as well as support of development database efforts from all business units.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support and maintenance of all database systems including Production, Test, and Development database environments.
- Monitoring and optimization of database performance, security, resource utilization, memory configuration, sessions, archive logs, and disk space usage.
- Share support for mission-critical database instances, including responsibility for after hours on-call support for issue resolution.
- Assist application developers in the development of stored procedural code.
- Tune SQL queries used by applications and provide suggestions to development for performance improvements in SQL and PL/SQL code.
- Support Backup and Recovery procedures on database systems in both a Linux and Windows server environments.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years as an Oracle DBA using Oracle 10.x or later
- Experienced using Linux operating systems for Oracle 10.x or later
- Oracle Software installation and new database setup
- Oracle DataGuard experience in both logical and physical environments
- Backup and recovery
- Performance monitoring and tuning
- Extensive PL/SQL Scripting experience
- Advanced Linux Shell scripting experience
- Experienced in Oracle Packages, Procedures, and Triggers
- Oracle client configurations including ODBC data sources
- 24x7 production environment experience
- Experience in administration of MSSQL Database servers a plus
Knowledge and Skills:
- Able to work well under pressure and with multiple project deadlines.
- Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change - within the work environment and scope of responsibility.
- Demonstrates initiative, and provides complete follow-through on areas of responsibility.
- Must have excellent problem solving skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical associates.
