Description: |
| The chef de cuisine partners directly with the Prepared Foods Manager and Store Director. Areas of responsibility focus primarily first and foremost on the Prepared Foods and Catering components of the store, which is located in KC's Power & Light District. Key areas of responsibility include developing a complete range of varied food lines, accurate food costing and pricing, creative and effective merchandising, staff hiring and training, and close monitoring of quality. |
Duties: |
| Key duties include but are not limited to the following: 1. Staffing and leading a large support team in order to continually produce top quality prepared food items.2. Labor and cost control3. Inventory management4. Staffing and training various lines within the department5. Creative menu planning6. Catering program development and daily implementation7. Creative and effective merchandising8. Maintaining current knowledge of all health, sanitation and safety guidelines and ensuring the following of those guidelines in daily store operations. |
Qualifications: |
1. Due to the high volume of customer interaction, applicants must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
2. Must have a minimum of 1 year of management experience.
3. The ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment requiring that you shift focus quickly.
4. Applicants must be able to tolerate various physical requirements outlined in the full job description including, but not limited to, long periods of standing and walking, repeated bending, squatting, twisting and stretching, repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs. during a standard shift, and other requirements.
5. High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
